Delicious Black Sapote Brownie Recipe

Surprisingly, it may seem that White Sapote is somewhat related to Black Sapote, but it is not true. When it comes to the taste, this fruit taste like chocolate pudding , so is the name “chocolate pudding fruit” given.
Black Sapote Origin, Favorable Soil and Climate
Black sapote originated from Colombia, Central America and Mexico. The fruit grows well in southern Florida, though it is not much popular there.
In Mexico, which is the homeland of Black Sapote fruit, it is popular and marketed regularly.
The fruit trees grows well if it gets protection from frost in the beginning years of growth. Once the trees to a good length, it can take the temperatures of 28 degrees to 30 degrees. It can grow easily (naturally) near the streams ( in alluvial clay ) and in dry forests in Mexico.
In Florida, one can get his hands on Black Sapote in Florida as it ripen between December to February. Also, one can easily get black sapote in Mexican markets from August to January.
Black Sapote: How it looks
Black Sapote looks like tomatoes and its size varies from 5 to 10 centimeters in diameter. The skin of black sapote cannot be consumed. The color of ripen Black Sapote skin is of dark yellowish green. The pulp of the fruit has a similarity to chocolate pudding when ripe.
It is to be noted that Black Sapote is toxic when consumed unripe and are bitter in taste.
Black Sapote Brownie Recipe Ingredients
|Black Sapote pulp ( 1 cup )||2 eggs|
|1/2 Cup Butter||Cocoa Powder (2/3 Cup)|
|1 Cup Refined wheat flour||1 cup of Sugar|
|1/2 tbsp of Baking Powder||Chocolate Chips (1/2 cup)|
|1 tbsp of Vanilla||3/4 tbsp of Salt|
Black Sapote Brownie Recipe: Step by Step
Black Sapote Brownie Recipe Step #1] Take a bowl and add melted butter. Now add baking powder, cocoa powder, sugar and salt into the butter while stirring. Now mix it in the mixer.
Black Sapote Brownie Recipe Step #2] Check if the mixture is at room temperature, if not give it some time to cool before going to the Step 3.
Black Sapote Brownie Recipe Step #3] Now add the black sapote pulp, vanilla and eggs to the bowl and mix (beat) well. Grab the bag of flour and add slowing to the mix while stirring. Next, add the chocolate evenly to the mix.
Black Sapote Brownie Recipe Step #4] Switch ON the oven and preheat to 325 degrees.
Black Sapote Brownie Recipe Step #5] Take a pan and place 2 parchment sheets to the bottom. Make sure that the edges of the sheets overlap by about 1 inch.
Black Sapote Brownie Recipe Step #6] Pour the mixture into the pan. Now take a spatula and make the surface of the mixture smooth.
Black Sapote Brownie Recipe Step #7] Place the pan in the oven and let it bake for 30 minutes. Do the toothpick trick to check if it is ready. The trick is to insert it in the cake and see that it should not stick to the toothpick.
