Importance Of Taste
Which dish did you have today???? Was it tasty or super tasty or just you had to fill your tummy with no taste at all!!! This is alone enough to state how taste plays an important role in food intake. Not only does food nourish the body, it provides nourishment for the soul as well as fulfils your satiety level. It’s because of taste that eating is a pleasurable experience to mesmerize the whole day. That one thing that we would like to repeat several times a day.
One of the best reasons to have tasty food is that taste sensations prepare our bodies for digesting food. Tasty food triggers our salivary glands and digestive juices, with the help of these two, our stomach prepares itself in digesting food and making use of the nutrients we get from food.
Another important reason to have a tasty food is that it provides information about our food. After one bite or even a tiny taste of some foods, we can often detect that the food has spoiled or not.
The ‘taste of food’ plays an important role in food choice. Several thousand taste buds (average range is between 2000 and 10,000) in our mouths function together to detect the real taste of food.
Finally taste comes out with good news for all foodies. A tasty food enhances your desire to eat as much as you usually do. Also the ability to taste our food is vitally important for our health and well-being.
